East-West Seed Foundation Philippines

For over 40 years, East-West Seed Company - Philippines has been committed to uplifting the lives of Filipino farmers by introducing innovative agricultural solutions that increase productivity and income. Through the provision of high-quality seeds and vital technical knowledge, it has empowered farming communities to thrive.

Building on this legacy, the East-West Seed Foundation (EWSF) extends the company’s impact beyond agriculture by fostering stronger, healthier, and more resilient urban and rural communities.

Established in July 2012, the East-West Seed Foundation, Inc. (EWSF) is a non-stock, non-profit organization that serves as the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of East-West Seed Company - Philippines. Its programs are designed to address the broader challenges faced by farming households, especially in rural and underserved areas, where access to resources, education, healthcare, and economic opportunities remains limited.

EWSF operates in regions where smallholder farmers comprise a significant portion of the population and where poverty, food insecurity, and climate vulnerability are persistent issues. Many communities in these areas experience high rates of underemployment, youth outmigration, and limited access to basic services—all of which hinder long-term rural development.

Through initiatives focused on food and nutrition security, youth engagement, home and community gardening, and capacity-building, EWSF works to close these gaps. By equipping individuals and families with knowledge and tools for sustainable living, the Foundation contributes to the creation of inclusive and self-reliant communities across its areas of operation.
