Public elementary schools and High Schools (Junior and Senior High) all over the country launched the Brigada Eskwela 2016 with the theme: “Tayo Para sa Paaralang Ligtas, Maayos at Handa Mula Kindergarten Hanggang Senior High School” last May 30 to June 3, 2016. It is a regular activity of the Department of Education to prepare all public schools to accommodate students on class opening which was always participated by teachers, parents and some volunteers coming from the private sectors, where East-West Seed family did not hesitate to participate in.
East-West Seed Foundation Inc. (EWSF) together with Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) assemble an army of volunteers to Caniogan National High School in Brgy. Caniogan, Calumpit, Bulacan as they both espouse the spirit of volunteerism to support the annual National Schools Maintenance Week. The activity was graced by EWSF Executive Director, Crisanto R. Sabino, and PBSP Corporate Affairs Officer, Lea Loreen J. Sacay. Volunteers from each organization supported the Brigada Eskwela activities of the school by repainting the arm chairs and wrapping new textbooks with plastic cover.
Despite the very high humid temperature of the school’s surroundings, the whole activity was very rewarding and worthwhile to all the volunteers.
