A round of special training on Urban Gardening was conducted by East-West Seed Foundation, Inc. in partnership with Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP).
Five schools were selected within Metro Manila area and were provided a whole day training including lecture sessions and hands-on activities. The training was mainly focused on Urban Gardening which allows schools with limited spaces to have their own mini vegetable gardens. It also includes sack gardening, making of organic fertilizers, proper seed sowing using seedling tray.
Among the trained participants were parents, teachers and school gardeners. The schools were also provided with the materials for start-up in vegetable gardens and also a variety of vegetable seeds with special packaging.
