Reflections and Growth: Gulayamanan Bantayan PPIR

Reflecting, Learning, and Growing with the Gulayamanan Project in Bantayan, Cebu

About a month ago, we took a meaningful pause from the day-to-day hustle of implementing the Gulayamanan Project in Bantayan Island, Cebu. Instead of pushing forward, we chose to look back—to reflect on our journey with the 50 dedicated beneficiaries (25 from each barangay Mojon and Kampingganon) through a post-project implementation review.

This quiet but powerful moment of reflection turned out to be incredibly valuable. It gave us the chance to listen—really listen—to the voices of the people at the heart of this project. The stories, insights, and honest feedback shared during the session offered a rare and important glimpse into their lived experiences with Gulayamanan.

These conversations reminded us that learning doesn’t always come from reports or data—it comes from people. Through their firsthand perspectives, we learned what worked well, what challenges they faced, and where we can do better. These insights are now shaping how we improve and evolve the project moving forward.

Taking time to reflect is just as important as taking action. It’s how we grow. And by growing together—with our partners, communities, and farmers—we get closer to our shared vision of better nutrition, improved livelihoods, and lasting food security for all.
