YABONG Bootcamp held its first face-to-face session with young agripreneur participants from different provinces across Luzon last March 15, 2024.
The session started with an informative visit to Farm Ready Seedling Corporation to supplement the participants’ learnings on seed-to-seedling management. Hands-on farm activities at the Gulayamanan Farm at Basuit, San Ildefonso, Bulacan followed the visit. The participants had a lot of fun doing horticultural practices including pollination, mulching, transplanting, trellising, pruning, and vine training. During the afternoon, a facility tour at the East-West Seed Philippines warehouse and laboratories was organized before finally closing the day with a brief session of reflection and insight sharing.
The face-to-face engagement is the fourteenth out of twenty-two sessions of the YABONG Bootcamp program. The 3-month training program was designed to help young agripreneurs succeed in vegetable farming by enhancing their knowledge and skills in both vegetable production and entrepreneurship.
YABONG Bootcamp is organized by East-West Seed and SEARCA and is facilitated by East-West Seed Foundation, Inc.- Philippines.
