Empowering Aspiring Growers: East-West Seed Foundation trains individuals interested in vegetable


Forty-two (42) aspiring individuals from Calabarzon and Bicol region successfully completed the Training of Trainers on AgriCrops Production, on August 18, 2023 at Villar Foundation farm school and Tourist Farm, Las Piñas, Bacoor concertedly organized by Villar Foundation and East-West Seed Foundation.


The training program covers a wide range of topics, including the Importance of planning in vegetable production, Costing and decision making, Choosing what vegetables to plant, Land preparation and lay-outing, Soil nutrient and water management, Seed-to-seedling management, Care and maintenance of vegetables produce, Insect and disease identification and management, Sustainable agriculture, Harvest and post-harvest handling, and Selling and marketing of vegetables produce.


As participants engage themselves in the training sessions, they not only acquire technical skills but also develop a great understanding of the significance of growing crops in addressing the country's challenges on food. The ripple effect of this training initiative extends beyond growers, as the skills acquired are important to local food systems and community resilience. The East-West Seed Foundation continues to have a significant impact on crop production and food security by contributing to people's knowledge and skills in growing vegetables.


The training ran from August 15, 2023 to August 18, 2023.
